Warwickshire OPU spotted an overloaded van on the A46, near Warwick, sitting low on its axles.

When weighed, the front axle was 11% overweight and gross 20% overweight, meaning the vehicle was overloaded by 290kg.

It was also found that the driver was BA, disqualified for driving by the court.

The van driver was issued with a Prohibition Notice and the vehicle was taken off the road.

The vehicle was prohibited until the weight was reduced.

Warkwickshire OPU through their twitter reminded all drivers that they are responsible for ensuring their vehicles are not overloaded and within the weight limits specified on their licence.

Overloading a vehicle can cause serious accidents and damage to roads.
