In a recent news report, Gloucestershire Police Special Ops have reported that a local scaffold lorry was stopped today and the driver prosecuted for an insecure load. The company involved is also facing further action .
The incident occurred when police officers stopped the lorry on a public road after noticing the load shift while the vehicle was in motion. Upon inspection it was found that there were no straps securing the load, resulting in the driver receiving points on his licence, as well as a fine for breaking transport laws.
Furthermore, police are taking further action against the company itself as this was not an isolated incident – another similar situation had been recorded earlier in the same area where the driver had forgotten to properly secure his straps before leaving with his vehicle.
