A man from Bridgwater was fined £500 after pleading guilty to drawing a trailer with an unsecured load that presented a risk of harming someone.

According to court papers, Gareth Usher, of Polden Street, was in charge of a Scania articulated goods vehicle with a trailer that had inadequate load security to balance and prevent movement of the load.

On March 14, 2022, Usher, 33, committed the offence on the M5 near Cullompton, Devon.

He was stopped while driving a Scania truck near Cullompton.

On Tuesday, July 5, 2022, he entered a guilty plea under the single justice procedure.

He was fined £500, in addition to the £90 court costs and victim compensation fee.

His guilty plea was considered when sentencing him, according to the court record.
