Near M42 Hopwood services, a mini traffic operation conducted with DVLA, HMRC (HM Revenue & Customs), OPU Worcestershire & MTST resulted in catching numerous offences. The joint operation between the agencies mentioned above targeted overloaded and insecure lorry loads, as well as van drivers using incorrect number plates and darkened windows. Multiple offences were recorded in total during the two-day operation.
Drivers were found to be driving with overloaded (max 59%) , insecure loads and drivers with window tints & number-plates that did not meet legal requirements. These drivers were reported and prohibitions were issued.
This kind of activity puts all other road users at risk and the law is there to protect everyone. Drivers found breaking these laws will be prosecuted. The campaign continues in order to keep all roads safe for everyone using them.
Breaking the law comes with consequences. Overloading, insecure loads, window tints & number-plates are a danger to everyone on the roadways and those caught will be prosecuted.
