The 14-acre plant has been built on a former industrial site after the multi-million-pound expansion of a family-run scrap metal company.
Delyn Metals has established a facility in Talacre that will recycle both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
After a decade of planning applications and revisions, the new processing facility opened following a multi-million-pound restoration project at the former Point of Ayr Colliery in Talacre.
The Lyons family, also owners of Lyons holiday camps, is overjoyed that the new facility can now service both commercial and domestic clients.
With the expansion of Talacre, there have been several job opportunities at the site, with machinery operators and drivers required.
The plant’s current capacity is 25 tonnes of scrap metal per hour, with a monthly average of 1,000 tonnes.
The recycling plant will allow for the recovery of a wide range of metals, and the public may now drop by without an appointment. Precise digital scales at the weighbridge will assure accuracy and consistency.
This will inspire people to recycle and reduce waste.
