The Taplow Road Policing Unit was dispatched to respond to a van at Beaconsfield Services. Upon arriving, the officers conducted an immediate stop and search of the vehicle. Upon a casual examination, it became evident that the van was likely overweight.

Upon further inspection, law enforcement officers discovered an array of power tools that had been reported stolen. After failing to present a legitimate driver’s licence, the van operator was arrested on suspicion of illegally possessing stolen items and falsified documents.

The officers’ suspicions were aroused when they observed that the van had an unusually abundant cargo. When the police requested to inspect his vehicle, the driver was unable to present a legitimate driving permit. As the officers’ suspicions heightened even more after a careful inquiry, they found an abundance of stolen power tools that not only added to the overloaded weight in the vehicle, but were also not properly secured; instead they were just piled high.

The van driver was detained on the spot for suspicions of possessing stolen goods, furnishing counterfeit documents and other traffic violations. He is in police custody at present as investigations continue further.

Taplow Road Policing Unit has displayed outstanding investigative prowess in finding  a vehicle believed to be full of stolen property. Acting in a timely fashion, they have managed to avert the risk of an accident occurring due to an overloaded vehicle with unsafely secured cargo.

Before starting any journey, it is imperative for drivers and companies to be aware of legal weight restrictions and know the proper ways to safely secure what they are transporting. Neglecting to do so could result in hefty fines, penalties or more serious consequences.
