The Beds, Cambs & Herts Road Policing Unit stopped a van and trailer on suspicion of having an insecure load. Upon inspection, it was found that tyres had fallen off the trailer onto the road as well as other offences including no number plates, faulty lights, and no tachograph being used. The driver has been reported for multiple offences and prohibited from driving.

Furthermore, upon inspection it was also found that there were no number plates on the vehicle as well as faulty lights which would have made detection almost impossible without proper lighting. Adding to this list of offences committed was a failure to use a tachograph in order to monitor speed limits and total working hours.

The driver of the van has now been reported for multiple offences including having an insecure load, illegal parking, using insufficient lighting and failing to use a tachograph. As part of their punishment they have been prohibited from driving until all these issues are addressed.

This incident serves as an important reminder to all drivers on the roads that following all laws is essential in order to ensure safety for everyone involved. All companies must also ensure that vehicles are regularly checked for any defects before taking them out on public roads and that adequate safety measures such as number plates and lights are installed at all times.
