The Derbyshire Road Police unit stopped a vehicle looking “very heavy on the rear end” and took it into a check site. After inspecting the vehicle, it was found to be overweight and full of copper cable.
The suspension was also found to be on bump stops, meaning that the vehicle should not have been in use at all. The driver was reported for having an overweight vehicle and prohibited from onward travel.
After being taken into a check site for inspection, it was found to be carrying more weight than is allowed under law, as well as being full of copper cable. It is unclear why the driver had such a large amount of copper cable.
Even more concerningly, the suspension was found to be on bump stops – meaning that the vehicle should not have been in use at all due to its condition.
In light of these findings, the driver has been reported for having an overweight vehicle and prohibited from onward travel until further notice. This serves as yet another reminder of how important it is to make sure your vehicles are up-to-date with their maintenance and legal requirements before taking them out on public roads – failure to do so can result in hefty fines or even jail time if you are caught breaking the law.
