Carwow, the online platform for selling vehicles, recently invited us to join them on their YouTube channel to weigh several supercars. We sent our engineer Dylan Narsing down with a set of axle weigh pads to weigh three different Lamborghinis: a Huracan STO, an Aventador SVJ and a Urus Performante.
Each of these three supercars comes equipped with a different engine & power output. The Huracan STO is first up, and it arrives with a 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 which can apparently produce 640hp. Following that they look at the Urus Performante, which is packing a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that can pull 666hp. And then finally there’s the Aventador SVJ, packing a 6.5-litre V12 which can apparently put down 770hp.
In addition to finding out what their power output figures are, Carwow put each car on the scales to find out how much they really weigh!
How do you think this one will play out – will the cars be putting down what Lamborghini says they are? And will they be lighter or heavier than their claimed weight? Watch the video below to find out!
Vehicle Weighing Pads are used to quickly and easily calculate loads on vehicles such as lorries, vans and HGVs. They are useful for checking individual axles and the total gross weight of the vehicle is not more than the maximum permitted.
With the use of two weigh pads, it becomes easy to set up an axle weighing system that can provide you with the ability to check loads to an accuracy of 0.5%. It is important that operators of vehicles know the weights of their vehicles when travelling on the roads.
Our vehicle weighing pads from Dini Argeo and Intercomp offer a simple and reliable method of accurately measuring the load on a truck, lorry or van. The portability of the models allows them to be taken from site to site or stored away easily.
Fines for overloaded vehicles can often be greater than the cost of a new set of vehicle weighing pads. This makes weigh pads an important investment for checking loads on vehicles and ensuring compliance with the law prior to entering the public highway.
