The Wiltshire Police Roads Patrolling Unit (RPU) stopped a vehicle on the M4 for its dangerous condition. The tints on the windows were at 28% when the legal limit is 35%. The vehicle was also found to be 30% overweight. As a result, the vehicle will not be allowed to move until the tints and excess weight are removed.
The law states that no tint can exceed 35% light transmission on any windows other than the windscreen. This means that if you choose to have tinted windows, they must still allow enough light into your car so that you can clearly see outside of it while driving. If a vehicle fails this test, police have the right to prohibit the car from being driven until it has been brought up to standard.
In addition to failing on tints, this particular vehicle was also found to be in violation of its gross weight limit by more than 30%. This is a significant amount and means that too much weight was being carried in or on the car which could put other road users in danger. Until this is rectified, this vehicle remains prohibited from moving until both issues are resolved.
The Wiltshire Police Roads Patrolling Unit (RPU) took swift action against this vehicle for its unsafe condition with tints lower than legal limits and excess weight. It serves as an important reminder for all drivers and companies who own vehicles that safety must always take precedence over aesthetics when it comes to cars. Make sure your car meets all safety standards before hitting the roads!
